 What is SVG and why SVG filetype?

SVG images type is modern type of graphical files, today used by all main stream web sites. Difference between SVG and classicc image types like (jpg, gif, not to mention bmp) is that images are lighter and rendred on different way that old filetypes, so basicaly I belive that this filetype will be dominate on web in near future.

Benefits of using SVG 

Using SVG images and icons have few advantages comparing to conservative web image formats, one of them is size and rendere speed, and another one, my favorite is ability to dynamical create and edit those files. For example, I am using in one of my sites svg image that write name of loged user. Instead of using classicall image combined with some CSS, I simply call SVG image passing parameter called user name, and image draw that parameter, so users have better graphical expirience and site looks more professional. Of course this is just trivial example of SVG usage, there is much more power and options with SVG.

Some samples from free svg and png clipart where you can browse thousands of SVG and PNG for free, under public licence. Those SVG image files are great and very useful, you can make website toolbars, vector arts for printing and much more.
