how can I make friends in a high school being a transfer student from a charter school?

I'm a sophmore in high school right now, and for the first quarter of school I went to a charter school. I had alot of friends but I didn't feel like we ever learned anything. My charter school started school 3 weeks later than other schools so when I decided to drop out of that school I had to catch up on credits through a computer schooling program on the internet so that I would be ready for a public school. Well now I start school at this new public school next week and I'm really nervus, cuz most of the kids from this school went to my jr. high or elementry and I was kind of a big nerd back then. and its been a long time since I've seen them. plus, the school its self has some people that are ALOT different from kids in a charter school,"more free spirited" . how am I going to make friends this upcoming sem. when I start!?! especially when everybody already has there "clicks". any advise for a new girl walking into all new classes with old familiar faces??? read more on Yahoo answers
