Does this mean jesus was not a god or was a liar? -- Read the whole question.?

According to Saint Mark chapter 11 verse 24 if a christian prays in the name of jesus and truly believes that he shall get what he prays for, he will actually get what he prays for. Some of the christians that I know prayed for another fellow christian how had cancer, they prayed that jesus would take away the cancer and make this christian well again...they even told me that it would happen because jesus works miracles, they even mentioned this scripture verse....well anyway, the christian man died of cancer. Does this mean jesus is a liar or not a god? Does this mean that some of the bible can't be trusted and if some of the bible can't be trusted does that mean all of the bible can't be trusted? And before any christians here say that these christians weren't true christians or didn't truly believe in what they prayed for, I'll have to remind you not to judge people you don't know. And also, I have not read it out of context, I have read the whole of chapter 11 to see if there anything that would annul this verse...and no, by jesus's word this christian man should of been cured of cancer. The bible passage I refer to is - 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
